This section provides an overview of the multi-disciplinary teams within Mental Health.

Mental Health

From 1 November 2024, Mental Health services in Camden are provided in collaboration with North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) and  Camden Council, as part of a Section 75 agreement. The NLFT is formed of two previously separate mental health trusts working in partnership that have merged (Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust and Barnet, Enfield & Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust.

There are various integrated Health and Social Care services that provide specialist input to support Camden residents with mental ill health.

For further information, please see the C&I website and Mental Health Service structure charts.  Note that C&I Mental Health Service is currently being restructured and an updated structure chart will be available in 2025.

You can also find guidelines on good practice for language and images about dementia here.

Camden’s Primary Care Mental Health Network (PCMHN) is a borough wide multi-disciplinary Mental Health Service, embedded in primary care and divided into four GP neighbourhood teams - CHE West, NW5, NW3 and South/CHE-South.

The service acts as a single point of access for referrals, with the exception of referrals into the crisis pathway or to iCope.

It is a partnership between:

Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust (lead provider)

Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust (Team Around the Practice)

Mind in Camden (social prescribing)

Camden Council (social care)

Hillside Clubhouse (employment support – IPS)

The key aim of the service is to work with GPs in providing holistic care for citizens in a setting closer to home, integrating services across ‘traditional’ organisational boundaries. The service includes multidisciplinary input from Mental Health practitioners, such as psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers, and the voluntary sector.

Senior Service Manager: Durand Darougar

Team Managers: Lorraine Lloyd and Ophelia Mensah

Further information on what the PCMHN does, can be found in the Mental Health Network Summary document.
