This section provides an overview of the multi-disciplinary teams within Mental Health.

Mental Health

From 1 November 2024, Mental Health services in Camden are provided in collaboration with North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) and  Camden Council, as part of a Section 75 agreement. The NLFT is formed of two previously separate mental health trusts working in partnership that have merged (Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust and Barnet, Enfield & Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust.

There are various integrated Health and Social Care services that provide specialist input to support Camden residents with mental ill health.

For further information, please see the C&I website and Mental Health Service structure charts.  Note that C&I Mental Health Service is currently being restructured and an updated structure chart will be available in 2025.

You can also find guidelines on good practice for language and images about dementia here.

The AMHP Service in C&I provides support to anyone whose difficulties are such that they require an assessment or treatment in hospital for a period of time. This could be either as an informal patient or, where necessary, under a section of the 1983 Mental Health Act.

The AMHP Duty Team provides support across both Camden and Islington.
