Safeguarding
A referral can be made by:
- An organisation that has worked with the adult
- The adult concerned, their family, advocate, carer, friend
- Individual acting on the adult’s behalf, such as a Coroner or MP
How to make a referral:
- Referrals must be made using the Camden SAPB Safeguarding Adults Review Referral form.
- Professionals who refer must have senior management endorsement of the referral
- Cases should be referred in a timely manner, with an appropriate rationale.
What happens when I refer a case:
- The referral will be considered by the SAR Sub-group, which consists of representatives from the Local Authority, Police, Integrated Care Board (ICB) etc.
- The referrer will be informed of the decision made by the subgroup.
- Where the criteria is not met, referrer will be informed along with the rationale and any recommendations
- If the criteria is met, the subgroup will determine the method and scope of review to be undertaken.
