Information for new starters to Camden

Induction

Lone Working: Social Care Practitioners are required to undertake lone working and Camden Council has a duty of care to keep their Practitioners safe.  The Adult Social Care Lone Working and Personal Safegy Guidance sets out how Managers will ensure Practitioners are supported to keep them safe while delivering support to adults. 

All new starters must have access to and read the following policies and procedures. These policies can be found on the Council intranet which is called Essentials:

  1. Camden Equality Policy (and Action Plan)
  2. Code of Conduct
  3. Dignity at Work booklet
  4. Probation Guidelines for Employees
  5. Underperformance Policy and Procedure
  6. Absence Management Policy and Procedure (including the Sickness Reporting Procedure for Employees)
  7. Grievance Policy and Procedure
  8. Disciplinary Policy and procedures
  9. Internet Code of Conduct
  10. Lone working and personal safety (corporate guidance) as well as ASC's Lone Working and Personal Safety guidance (see top of the page in light green box). Best practice on our approach for Camden and Islington Non-care home visits
