Working Well Together With Parents with Learning Difficulties

Advocacy and Parenting Peer Support

The Elfrida Society in Islington (different organisation to Elfrida Camden in Kentish Town) offer advocacy and parent peer support for parents with learning difficulties or disabilities.

Family Early Help can spot purchase independent advocacy if the family worker and manager think this would be a valuable addition to the scaffolding network, and would support the parent and family to move closer to their goals.

The Elfrida Society also have parent peer support groups for parents with learning difficulties or disabilities. The groups aim to support parents to gain awareness of self-advocacy and build confidence to speak up for themselves and to support each other, particularly around parenting.
