Financial Support

Financial Support

Changes in the economy have had an impact on people's finances. There is support for residents in severe financial hardship and who can't afford necessities to live. Support could be through internal schemes or referrals to external support including grants.

Household Support Fund (HSF) Awards

In addition to two Cost of Living awards, residents who meet the criteria can apply to the Government-funded Household Support Fund (HSF).

  • The deadline to apply for a HSF payment is 31 March 2026, and it has the same eligibility criteria as our Cost of Living Crisis Fund.
  • HSF award must be 2 months from Cost of Living award.
  • Applicants are eligible if they are facing severe financial hardship and cannot afford food, warmth, water, electricity and household essentials.
  • The scheme’s budget position will be taken into consideration when making an award.

Further information regarding the Household Support Fund can be found in the  COL and HSF Briefing note

Supermarket vouchers

The government-funded Household Support Fund (HSF) will also be used to fund supermarket vouchers until 31 March 2026 for families living in Camden who receive Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support with children up to the age of 18. Any child attending a Camden school and receiving free school meals will also receive vouchers.

For more information about supermarket vouchers, and to apply to the Household Support Fund, visit the Camden Council website: Apply to the Household Support Fund - Camden Council
