Advocacy
CSFH recognises the importance of advocacy in supporting children and parents to participate in decision making.
The CSFH Advocacy policy and guidance provides information on advocacy, including the role of advocates, when families may need advocates and who can advocate for them. It also sets out some principles and standards of practice for those undertaking the advocacy role.
Camden is in the process of developing a corporate advocacy policy and an unreasonable representative behaviour protocol for circumstances where staff are dealing with difficult behaviour from family and friends advocating for service users. For details on the procedure please see the powerpoint presentation.
