Advocacy

Advocacy is about speaking on someone’s behalf or supporting them to speak directly to those in power in order to make a case and influence decisions that will affect them.

The following resources are available to social workers, children and parents.

Advocacy for parents attending child protection conferences is provided by the Family Group Conference Service; details available in this leaflet.

Looked after children can access advocacy support from the London Advocacy Service provided by Action for Children. Information on the service can be found in the leaflet and referrals can be made using the referral form.

Children receiving a service from the Children and Young People's Disability  Service can access advocacy support from WAC Arts Advocacy Service.
