Working with CLA

Social workers need to develop good relationships with CLA as it is likely to be one of the most important and enduring relationships for the child while they are looked after.

The following information leaflets are available for children and parents when a child becomes looked after.

Social workers should ensure that children receive their "CLA pack" containing leaflets and resources that are vital to help them understand why they are being looked after and what to expect, including the children's guide to being looked after booklet. CLA packs are available from the CLA Business Support team based in the Crowndale.

Social workers should also ensure parents are given the parents guide to being looked after when their child is accommodated.
