Children in need processes

Children in need processes

Children in need (CIN) are defined as children who need services and support in order to reach or maintain a reasonable standard of health and development.

All children who are known to CSFH will be children in need and case management will involve the processes of assessment, planning and review.

Where a child is considered to be a child in need social workers should follow the Tri X Child in Need Plans and Review policy.

Social workers should also follow the local procedures set out in the CSFH CIN procedures.

As part of the CIN review process social workers should seek the views and wishes of children using the CIN consultation forms.
