Child sexual abuse

Child sexual abuse

Child sexual abuse (CSA) describes a number of different types of harm arising in various contexts and can have a long-term impact on the well-being of the child.

Social workers can refer children and young people to the Lighthouse and need to be mindful of their role.

The Role of the social worker guidance sets out how social workers can request advice, make referrals and work jointly with Lighthouse staff.

To make a referral please use the Lighthouse referral form.

Information for professionals about the Lighthouse  is available in the leaflet.

Further information for professionals wishing to refer about what the Lighthouse offers can be found here.

The Marie Collins Foundation also has resources that social workers can use when working with victims of CSA.
