Supervision and other court orders

Supervision and other court orders

During private family proceedings the court may request a report from CPFHS regarding the welfare of the child who is the subject of proceedings.

Courts may request a report under section 7 of the Children Act 1989 in order to help the court make a decision.

Courts may request a report under section 37  because there are concerns about the welfare of the child and the court is considering making a care or supervision order.

The courts will follow this policy to decide whether Camden or CAFCASS should be responsible for providing this report.

CSFH will normally be asked to complete the report if the family are receiving or have received a service within the last 12 weeks. Social workers should refer to the Section 7 and Section 37 court reports policy for further details.

The report should be written using the following templates:

Section 7 report template.

Section 37 report template.

Requests will be sent to Legal Services first and directed to the allocated social worker or allocated via  the Contact Service  daily discussion.
