LGBTQ+ awareness

Information to raise awareness and improve understanding of the LGBTQ+ community

LGBTQ+ awareness

Camden has a zero-tolerance approach to abuse including hateful or inappropriate behaviour towards members of the LGBTQ+ community. Information is available that can help raise awareness and understanding of LGBTQ+ issues, different types of discrimination and how we can support LGBTQ+ people.

Camden has been working towards a more inclusive environment, providing a support structure for LGBTQ+ staff and staff employed by other agencies.

The Rainbow Network on Viva Engage (formerly Yammer) is a community for all self-defining lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, non-binary, intersex, asexual, pansexual staff.

It is open to all staff in the community, including marginalised and underrepresented LGBTQ+ groups.

It provides a safe space and peer support network for staff, and acts as a point of contact for LGBTQ+ staff.

On the network, LGBTQ+ staff can talk about and express their feelings and share celebrational posts.  The network also provides insightful news, and publicises seminars.

There is also the Employee Assistance Programme which offers an even broader range of support, it is a free, independent and confidential service.
