Information to raise awareness and improve understanding of the LGBTQ+ community

LGBTQ+ awareness

Camden has a zero-tolerance approach to abuse including hateful or inappropriate behaviour towards members of the LGBTQ+ community. Information is available that can help raise awareness and understanding of LGBTQ+ issues, different types of discrimination and how we can support LGBTQ+ people.

There is no place for hate in Camden.

No one should should experience isolation, segregation, marginalisation, harmful practices, intolerance, hate, the denial of rights, prejudice, violence, or terrorism.

If you witness, or you are a victim of a homophobic or transphobic crime, report it to the Police.

For further details about how to report a hate crime, or hate incident is available.

If you witness or are the victim of discriminatory behaviour in the workplace please consult the Adult and Social Care settings in Camden’s Memorandum of Understanding.  This document explains how Camden is committed to creating an inclusive working environment for all its employees.   You can read ‘There is no place for hate in Camden’ Section 11 on Safeguarding which describes how we tackle different types of abuse, and what action is taken in these circumstances in Adult Social Care.

Any form of discrimination must be reported and you can do so by using our new Reporting Discrimination Hub.

Other processes for reporting - Report an accident or incident remain in place and there is further information on how to report racism and discrimination available on essentials.

There is also Risksured for those of you who would prefer to use this. You can call Risksured on 0117 450 1227 or make a report online.
