Information from the Safeguarding Learning and Development Group meetings

Safeguarding Learning and Development Group

The Safeguarding Learning and Development Group (SLDG) meets bi-monthly to share and discuss learning and new developments in safeguarding practice, with practitioner led bite-sized training sessions and guest speakers sharing information on relevant topics.

Agenda

Minutes

This meeting included a presentation on assessment and safeguarding in the hostels pathway services, and recommendations from the Newham SAR for 'Yi' in relation to this.

There was also a presentation on the safeguarding peer auditing programme in adult social care, and the peer audit tool used and report from the first audit.

Other information shared during this meeting included the ADASS Guidance – making decisions on the s42 duty on whether to undertake further enquiries under the s42 duty, and the new SAR that Camden’s Safeguarding Board has recently published – Camden UU SAR.

Information was also circulated after the meeting about how to report Quality and Assurance concerns to the CCG – please email [email protected] to alert the CCG of issues such as medication errors, falls (community or res/nursing care), self-neglect issues, pressure ulcers, and/or anything else with clinical involvement.

This is separate from the Quality Assurance function in ASC commissioning, which you should report all provider quality of care issues to, in relation to formal commissioned services from the council. Further information is available on the reporting quality concerns page.
