Information and guidance to Mosaic

Mosaic

Mosaic is the main database for Adult Social Care and for Childrens services. It's a records and finance management system.

What type of training may the new starter need?

All workers must have a signed AUP form and an enhanced DBS on file with HR prior to training/access (see the Requesting Training and Access tab).

  • VIEW-ONLY ACCCESS:

If a worker requires View Only access to Mosaic, then no formal training is required once the mandatory Mosaic e-learning has been completed. The application form needs be completed by the line manager, and sent to Sandra Oweka (Mosaic trainer) to request Mosaic access with IT.

  • FOR FULL ACCESS:

If a worker requires full access to Mosaic, then once the mandatory Mosaic e-learning has been completed, the What Matters training has been attended and the application form is sent to Sandra Oweka (Mosaic trainer), a full day training session can be organised. Currently these are held every other Wednesday, so advanced planning is advised. This training is most appropriate for practitioners such as Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Managers. After the training, Sandra will request Mosaic access with IT.

  • SPECIFIC ACCESS:

If a worker requires specific access to part of Mosaic due to a specialist role (such as CLDS Health, Careline or the Personal Finance Service), then once the mandatory Mosaic e-learning has been completed, and the application form is sent to Sandra Oweka (Mosaic trainer), a one-to-one training session can be organised directly with the worker. After the training, Sandra will request Mosaic access with IT.

Please note, student practitioners will also require the full day training, however it’s imperative that this isn’t organised as soon as the student starts. Time is needed for a substantial induction from the line manager, and for the student to attend the What Matters training beforehand. This will provide context to the Mosaic training.

IT will not provide Mosaic access or change a worker’s current access, unless this request has been made directly by the Mosaic trainer.
