Information and guidance to Mosaic

Mosaic

Mosaic is the main database for Adult Social Care and for Childrens services. It's a records and finance management system.

Health Information Exchange' (HIE), known locally as 'London Care Record' (LCR)

Many staff in Adult Social Care (ASC) have access to HIE through Mosaic. It is a facility that currently displays a comprehensive set of health data from a wide variety of sources.

You will find HIE under the 'Health' tab on a person's front page. If this is not available to you, it means it has been decided that your job role/ level of Mosaic access does not require you to view this information.

When you click HIE, it takes you through a portal to a non-Mosaic page, allowing you to view information from a person's GP record,
and data from other Trusts and health and social care providers. This information is real-time and read-only.

For this to work, you need to ensure the person has their NHS number listed on their file.

In the same way, Health clinicians can now view some key Mosaic information through this process. Camden will ensure any records where there has been no involvement with ASC, are not shared. This process will be managed by the Mosaic team, in conjunction with our colleagues in Children's Services.

PLEASE NOTE: You may notice a 'widget' on a person's record entitled 'Consent for sharing with health organisations'

Adult Social Care (ASC) staff SHOULD NOT use this function to record consent. In ASC, our data processing and sharing arrangements are explained in the Privacy Notice, and in many cases we do not need to request consent. The public facing Privacy Notice has been updated recently to include this section below, and the Mosaic version of the Privacy Notice will shortly be updated accordingly.
