Identity Matters: Learning Sessions

Identity Matters: Learning Sessions

In 2022- 2023 a series of webinars were designed and delivered in ASC with the theme Putting Identity at the Heart of Practice. The webinars were commissioned by SMT as an area of action in the ASC Equalities Plan (co-designed by SMT, reaching in /reaching out and our staff equalities taskforce) which seeks to tackle and reduce the structural inequalities experienced by staff and residents. Putting identity at the heart of practice with a focus on intersectionality is also a priority in the work to further embed strengths based practice across adult social care in Camden.

On 11th January, the fourth reflective webinar took place, and was hosted by the award winning team around Kassiba*, CLDS and her advocate Lucy (Changing Our Lives). This was a hybrid event.

Further information on Kassiba's story can be found here.

Contributers on the day included:

Andrew Reece: Head of CLDS
Chris McGuiness: Named Social Worker
Hannah Deakin: Clinical Psychologist
Lucy Dunstan: Independent Rights Based Advocate
Lynette Kennedy: LD Nurse Consultant
Sal Bryant: EDI Project Manager

A copy of the slides (which contains videos from the session) can be viewed here.
