Autism

The Autism pages aim to enable practitioners to better empower autistic adults to identify their needs and communicate how autism impacts on their daily lives, so that their needs can be better addressed. The section provides lots of resources, information and support that practitioners can access, such as toolkits, practitioner-led drop ins, and details of a range of autism services that are available. If you have any feedback regarding the content or would like to include additional information, please contact Jake Binns or Fung-yee Lee.  There are also separate pages on neurodiversity.

The Disability Job Hub provides person-centred employment support to disabled and neurodiverse Camden residents.

Support offered includes: 

  • Reasonable adjustments, understanding what the individual needs and how to communicate that to an employer
  • Advocating on behalf of the individual and empowering them to advocate for themselves
  • CV, cover letter and job application support
  • Creating supported paid work placements
  • In-work support
  • Confidence building
  • Finding inclusive employers and suitable job opportunities
  • Connecting the individual with relevant training opportunities

The hub also holds an autism-friendly, free 5-week course on how to succeed at the interview stage, and a mock job interview day with real employers where we can simultaneously upskill the employers on how to conduct an inclusive interview.
