We have developed further tools and resources which can be used through the journey of supporting a tenant with vulnerabilities. You can tailor these resources for the area of housing or property you might work in.
Please note, that support is not always a linear process. Life is complex, and things can always change. You can use these tools wherever they might be helpful and try to take space to reflect on where you are and what might be helpful along the way.
All the tools below should also be used dynamically and responsively to any change. If a solution doesn't work, think about how we might be able to do it differently.
Things to consider:
Sometimes the simplest questions are the best ones e.g. what do you need, what is important to you, how can I help?
Always consider any support and options in the context of the tenant's barriers and strengths
Goals should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound)
Determine what support they will need along the way – How can you help? How can other services help? What community resources might there be?
Always celebrate progress, no matter how small
