Vulnerability
Our housing guidance site
It's important to remember that 'vulnerability' is a wide-ranging term and might not be the language a tenant chooses to describe themselves. This term doesn't define a group of people; instead, it highlights the barriers an individual might face in receiving the support they need.
Always prioritize the tenant's preferred language and aim to be as precise as possible about their specific circumstances.

Taking a person-centred approach is at the core of how we support and enable tenants and households experiencing vulnerabilities. Within our framework, we aim to:
Understand and know our residents relationally.
Consider relevant factors (social, economic, personal) that might impact a tenant’s experience of housing
Identify the barriers and strengths a tenant or household member might be experiencing
Empower tenants’ strengths and support them to overcome barriers by taking collaborative action and making reasonable adjustments.
Enable equitable access through tenant participation and working well together.
