If your resident or someone else is in immediate danger or risk of harm phone 999. It is important to distinguish crisis support from emergency support. In an emergency, someone’s life might be in danger, and you should call 999.
In an emergency, a resident can go to the emergency department at their local hospital. Hospital staff will be able to assess mental state and treat accordingly.
Social Prescribing - In Camden, the social prescribing service is delivered by a partnership of organisations (Age UK Camden, Voluntary Action Camden, and the Council’s Wish Plus referral hub) that provides a single point of access to assess, triage, advise and support residents that are referred.

Camden Crisis Sanctuary - a free service open to people aged 18+ years of age who live in Camden or have visited mental health services in the borough.
Camden Crisis Sanctuary is open from 5-11pm, Monday – Sunday, 365 days a year. Last admission for walk-ins is 10:30pm. The service is open over Christmas for those in need of crisis support.
iCope Camden and Islington website contains useful information about service options and the range of help that is available if someone is experiencing a mental health crisis.
Brandon Centre and Brandon Reach – Counselling and psychotherapy for young people 12-24. The Brandon Reach project service is for those who have lost their child through special guardianship or adoption
Nafsiyat - charity offering intercultural therapy in over 20 languages to people from diverse cultural communities.
Hub of Hope - The Hub of Hope is the country's first nationwide mental health database, which brings help and support together in one place. The app will help people to find much needed support using their phone's location to find key services and organisations.
SOBS, Survivors of bereavement by suicide – Work to meet the needs and overcome the isolation experienced by people over 18 who have been bereaved by suicide.
Amparo – Suicide bereavement support in Camden.
Papyrus - Provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person.
Camden Care Choices offers information regarding additional support services within Camden including support provided by the London Irish Centre.
Suicide Bereavement UK Website – Suicide Bereavement UK is a website designed to support various audiences, including those who have been affected by suicide and need to identify the right support and key resources, it also provides training and bespoke crisis consultation for employers.
MIND Camden – Offers information and support, peer support, and community programmes for people who are facing challenging situations that affect their mental health and wellbeing.
London Samaritans – Offers listening services and community outreach for those struggling with mental health. Helpline 116 123 is free from any phone.
Top tips from your co-workers:
Where you can, arrange regular check ins with those who might be struggling with mental health
Be aware of tenant’s triggers, the environment, and what might be the best setting to have conversations
Be open and transparent in communication to build trust
If a tenant has been discharged from hospital and care hasn’t been arranged, social services should be contacted to help arrange care. If the tenant has been assessed as not needing care by the hospital but they feel they need it, please see the NHS website for more information.
