Citizen’s Advice Bureau - Trained volunteers and advisers who can help with a range of issues, including cost of living support and benefits advice  

Food banks - Camden has three foodbanks operated by Trussell Trust (Chalk Farm, Camden Town and Euston). If a tenant is in urgent need of support to access food, they can use Camden's Find Food website, or call 020 7974 4444 and say ‘food’ when prompted 

 Debt Adviser Locator -  Tool to search for free, trained, and experienced debt adviser who can advise tenants about their situation. 

National Debt Line – Offers online and telephone support and advice for anyone struggling with debt. 

Step Change - Provides confidential and expert debt advice and support. 

 

Top tips from co-workers: 

  • Tenants often find it difficult to discuss debt, and creating a safe and non-judgmental space for them to disclose is important 

  • Utility companies often offer assistance for those on low income, benefits, or with certain medical conditions. For example, Water Sure Plus at Thames Water.
