Vulnerability
Our housing guidance site
People can find themselves in poverty, debt or financial hardship because of a major change in circumstances, others come from a background of entrenched, generational poverty. In Housing, and more widely across Camden, we have various services which support people on a journey towards a sustainable outcome.
Rent support in housing – If tenants are worried about being able to pay their rent, they can contact the Income team for help and advice by emailing [email protected] or calling 020 7974 4444 . This team can help developed person-centred rent repayment plans and manage payments on behalf of the tenant. More information can be found online: Paying rent for your council home - Camden Council
More information about our approach towards rent arrears can be found here: Money, rents & benefits | Housing
Cost of Living Support – Provide help with money and bills or if in debt, and advice and support you to access any help with money they may be eligible for. Tenants can get support if they:
have lived in Camden for at least 6 weeks
are the main tenant or Council Taxpayer
are over 16 years old and living independently, or 18 years old and over
are living in severe financial hardship
have not had 2 cost of living awards in the last 12 months

Access to grants and funds – There are a range of grants and funds tenants experiencing vulnerabilities may be able to access. More information can be found here: Apply for grants, funds and loans - Camden Council
