Translation and Interpreters – There are various options for translation and interpreters:
Our staff interpreting scheme Using our staff interpreting scheme you will have access to staff who speak a variety of languages but at the time understand our residents, communities and the work we do.
Language Service: Interpreting, Translations and Transcriptions Staff who need to use the Language Service should have their own LLS user account. If you do not already have an account and need one, your line manager will need to complete the online form requesting an account to be set up on your behalf as well as providing the correct cost centre budget code for your team/service.
Braille documents – LanguageLine can provide Braille transcription services.
BSL interpreters – LanguageLine provides spoken languages, including BSL interpreters and deafblind interpreters.
You can also book in-person interpreters for events and in-person meetings via language line. Please discuss any in-person requests with your Manager.
Camden Council provides access to the SignVideo service, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (this service requires a webcam).
Large print - We can always provide copies of documents in large prints, please just ask the document owner to adapt.
Easy read - More information on getting Easy-Read versions of documents can be found on Essentials. All of our public-facing documents (e.g. strategies and policies) must have an easy-read version.
