Energy Angels

Energy Angels are fitting smart meters and switching energy providers (to Ovo) when a home is void (wiping debts where applicable). They will replace broken or missing meters if there is a supply. This happens after a referral.

For those that have been switched, at handover the Voids admin staff will provide  a letter from Energy Angels to pass to the new tenant at sign up.

This letter gives them:

• details of who provides their energy supply and contact details for them
• details about their meter/s (or if there is no meter) and
• details of how to switch if they wish to, which includes a number for Energy Angels for advice and a Camden specific webpage to compare suppliers.

At sign up it is good to get either an email address or mobile number for your tenant. This is provided to Energy Angels for the new supplier. If the tenant has neither then an advocate’s email address or mobile number will do instead (for example, a support worker or family member of the NHO). 

We need to provide Energy Angels with new tenants details which is an automated process by a daily report.  It is important to make sure that all sign-ups are added to NEC as soon as possible after sign-up.

The sign-up checklist has been amended to add in these details.

The Privacy notice for all Camden tenant’s has also been amended (this should also be being already provided to new tenants at sign up).
