An overview of secure tenancies in Camden.
Secure tenancies (or lifetime tenancies) were introduced by the 1980 Housing Act. The Act introduced various rights of secure tenants such as the right to succeed and the right to buy.
Our tenancy conditions were last revised on 28 November 2016.
This is a contract that outlines the rights of secure tenants, our duties as landlord and tenants' duties. All new tenants sign to say they have read and understand these when they sign their tenancy agreement.
A copy of the tenancy conditions can be found at the back of the tenants' guide, however, there are also separate copies available if they are needed. Both the tenants' guide and the tenancy conditions can be found on Camden's website.
We can only change tenancy conditions either with tenants agreement or by following a prescribed legal process involving consultation and serving a notice of variation.
