Other tenancies

Other types of tenancy you may come across in landlord services.

Family intervention tenancies

These were introduced by the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008.  They have rarely been used in Camden.

  • These can be offered where a tenant is likely to be evicted on the grounds of anti social behaviour and to support the provision of behaviour support services.
  • They are entered into voluntarily by the tenant.
  • There are strict notices that we must comply with when offering one.
  • A behaviour support agreement is needed between the tenant, the agencies providing support and ourselves.
  • They are a common law tenancy that can be ended by a notice to quit after serving a notice of intention.
  • Reviews should be called no less than every eight weeks and attended by the family and agencies providing support.
  • They can vary in length according to the amount of work needed with the family.  If successful we can offer a secure tenancy afterwards.
