Family intervention tenancies
These were introduced by the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008. They have rarely been used in Camden.
- These can be offered where a tenant is likely to be evicted on the grounds of anti social behaviour and to support the provision of behaviour support services.
- They are entered into voluntarily by the tenant.
- There are strict notices that we must comply with when offering one.
- A behaviour support agreement is needed between the tenant, the agencies providing support and ourselves.
- They are a common law tenancy that can be ended by a notice to quit after serving a notice of intention.
- Reviews should be called no less than every eight weeks and attended by the family and agencies providing support.
- They can vary in length according to the amount of work needed with the family. If successful we can offer a secure tenancy afterwards.
