Introductory tenancies were introduced by Part 5 of the Housing Act 1996. In Camden all new tenancies from 7 April 2008 have been introductory tenancies.
The guidance is quite prescriptive as there are various timeframes for taking certain kinds of legal action.
You can read the full guidance here
Interventions are the same for introductory and secure tenants however different notices are served before legal proceedings:
Council policies and guidelines for addressing anti-social behaviour apply in the same way to both introductory and secure tenancies.
Introductory tenancies can be repossessed more easily than secure tenancies but the circumstances in which a tenancy should be repossessed are the same.
An example of a standard NPIT can be viewed here. This includes all the information that the council must give a tenant when serving an NPIT. An up to date version can be completed from Northgate.
