Safeguarding Children

Referrals which do not meet the threshold and Early Help

When concerns don’t meet the threshold for statutory child protection or child in need support, referrals are directed to Camden’s Early Help team. This includes children with additional needs or early signs of risk, such as mild disabilities, special educational needs, poor school attendance, caring responsibilities, exposure to low-level family difficulties, or vulnerability to harm.

The Early Help team provide early intervention and prevention services to support child development, school readiness, and family wellbeing. These integrated services use strength-based, evidence-led approaches through multi-agency partnerships.

Where appropriate, the Early Help service will assess needs and coordinate support with families and professionals. Further information can be found here.

These are voluntary services so consent will be needed for a referral.
