Vulnerability
Our housing guidance site
Camden has a zero-tolerance approach towards any violence or aggression towards a member of staff, and all employees have a right to carry out their duties, free from such behaviour.
Where staff members have concerns about their own safety in relation to safeguarding concerns, they should follow the Lone Working and Personal Safety guidance.
Where staff members are in concerned about personal safety, they should proactively discuss any concerns with their line manager and together work to identify any measures that would help to improve safety and well-being and raise any flags or caution on the system aid theirs and others safety.
If staff members ever feel unsafe at work, they should remove themselves from any unsafe situations immediately, take themselves to a place of safety, and coordinate a response from there.
If a member of staff is involved in an incident relating to violence or aggression, they should inform their manager immediately and report it to Camden’s Health and Safety team. See Report an accident or incident on how to do this.
Managers are advised to complete a personal risk assessment and implement measures where there are any personal safety risks. An example personal risk assessment can be found here. It is essential to inform and discuss this with the member of staff concerned.
Information relating to any risks to staff or personal safety should be shared with Adult Social Care and other relevant partners working within the multi-agency response.
