Each organisation involved in the investigation should send an appropriately trained Officer to the case conference and protection planning meeting, when invited by Adult Social Care. This will usually be the person who contributed to the investigation and may be the manager or the Safeguarding Adults lead.
To help support the attendance and effective participation of the adult at risk, it is likely that the case conference will be divided into two parts:
Part 1 is for professionals to receive the investigating officer’s report and to make decisions on the findings.
Part 2 is concerned with agreeing the protection plan and it may be appropriate for the adult at risk to attend the meeting. The purpose of this part of the meeting is to agree a protection plan.
