Visiting our elderly residents is a great way of being proactive and has benefits to the resident as well as to ourselves. As well as checking on their well being, we can signpost them to other services. We can also collect up to date information from them, for example, next of kin information. Many of our residents may have been a tenant for many years and so the information we have for them can be totally out of date.
Take with you a copy of the over 75s checklist (also on essentials under support services) and the attached privacy notice.
It is best to familiarise yourself with it first if you haven't done the visits before.
