Visiting our elderly residents is a great way of being proactive and has benefits to the resident as well as to ourselves. As well as checking on their well being, we can signpost them to other services. We can also collect up to date information from them, for example, next of kin information. Many of our residents may have been a tenant for many years and so the information we have for them can be totally out of date.
Depending on how the visit went, possibly very little.
You may need to refer the tenant to other services or may have come back with a repair or two they have asked you to progress.
You may need to create a new case on LWP if they have raised a new issue that you want to work on. For example, sometimes these checks result in us discovering the tenant has actually died or has moved into residential care and so we need to look at who is left in occupation.
Update Northgate "arrears action code" O75V with the date you visited. Double check the date of birth on Northgate is also correct.
Remember to file the checklist to TRIM so it is there for future colleagues to refer to if they need to.
