Resident safety

A key part of our purpose is that we help residents have a safe home and environment. This includes both in and outside their homes including communal parts and estates. A key conversation at the start of a tenancy we also do this by working alongside other colleagues, for example, in estates services or repairs.

Fire safety

Camden has a programme to fit hardwired smoke detectors in all tenanted flats in purpose built blocks and all street properties.

For those not yet fitted, residents can get a free home fire safety assessment and free 10 year battery operated smoke alarm by calling the London Fire Brigade on 0800 028 4428 or at london-fire.gov.uk/safety/the-home/book-a-home-fire-safety-visit/

Residents have been given the Fire Safety leaflet (also see link top right) with advice on alarms, doors, smoking, kitchen and cooking safety, appliances and storage.
