Our neighbourhoods and teams

The new landlord services started on the 17 June 2019 after a wide ranging review involving different members of staff.  The different teams within housing management and landlord services are described here.

The ways of working of the new landlord service came out of the landlord review.

Welfare rights team

This team is managed by the welfare rights team manager.

They advise and support residents who are either council tenants or live in the single pathway hostels. 

This advice includes:

  • Debts:  Advising on priority and non priority debts, Negotiating with creditors and setting up repayment plans, advising on and making applications for DROs.
  • Benefits:  Assessing entitlement to benefits and claiming, challenging incorrect DWP decisions and representing at Tribunal.
  • Awarding local council crisis grants in emergencies when people have no money.

They also;

  • provide training and coaching to colleagues across the council in areas including benefits and budgeting;
  • have a duty adviser who provides advice to colleagues who may need help for one of their clients; and

Duty Advice Rota

The duty rota is as follows:

  • Monday: Rosie
  • Tuesday: Angela
  • Wednesday: Habiba
  • Thursday: Agnes
  • Friday: Victor

Colocation

The colocation days are as follows:

  • Holborn Library: Agnes (Thursday)
  • Swiss Cottage/Rowley Way: Rosie (2 half days) (Mondays)
  • Crowndale Centre: Angela. (Tuesdays) (and Sussy on her return from career break)
  • 5PS & Crowndale Centre: Tim (Wednesday and Thursdays – for sign up support benefits and budgeting)
