Our neighbourhoods and teams

A brief description of who we work with.

Our neighbourhoods and teams

The new landlord services started on the 17 June 2019 after a wide ranging review involving different members of staff.  The different teams within housing management and landlord services are described here.

The ways of working of the new landlord service came out of the landlord review.

This team is managed by the partnership team manager.

It incorporates partnership officers and a wish plus project officer working  across a broad range of areas covering:

WISh Plus

  • This is a referral hub with referrals received from internal and external organisations and self-referrals from Camden residents.
  • Onward referrals are sent to partner services offering help with warmth (in the home), income, safety and security and health.
  • Partner providers include the London Fire Brigade, Age UK Camden, the CAB and a handy person service.
  • Referrals can be made here, phone: 0207 974 3012 or email: [email protected] .

Employment

  • Referrals for any resident that needs support with employment advice are passed to the relevant employment support agency including Good Work Camden Jobs Hubs and Ingeus.
  • Support of the local work and health programme, run by Ingeus.  Regular case conferencing with the case-workers and the economic development unit to identify gaps in service provision and to keep them up to date on the services available in the borough. The case-workers also use the public spaces in 5PS to meet with their participants.

Welfare Changes

Work with council tenants affected by the;

  • social sector size criteria (bedroom tax) mainly to support under occupiers in moving and with mutual exchanges; and
  • benefit cap, working jointly with the Job centre Plus to arrange joint interviews to encourage finding employment.

Children’s Centres

  • Co-located with and support the children’s centres in the borough with housing advice and training for family workers and health visitors.

Camden Living

  • Arranging the viewings, the verification checks and the tenancy starts for all the new Camden Living intermediate rent properties.

Money Advice

  • Financial, budgeting and benefit advice including onward referrals to advice agencies including the Mary Ward Legal Centre and the CAB.
  • Referrals for advice for tenants who are in rent arrears.

Camden Advice Partnership (CAP)

  • These regular meetings are chaired by a partnership officer and are an important opportunity to bring advice providers in Camden together and to give each other updates.
