Covid-19 Community directory

Voluntary Action Camden (VAC) have created a directory which lists Camden’s voluntary groups and their offer during the Covid 19 crisis along with their contact details.

Access it here: Covid 19 Community Directory

The Directory has a search facility to search by ward and type of assistance needed. It can help identify help with:

  • Hot meal delivery
  • Telephone buddying
  • Picking up groceries
  • Collecting a prescription or supplies from the pharmacy
  • Door knocking, or intercom checks of residents we’ve been unable to contact by phone

See the Council’s guidance for volunteers issued by Camden and Islington Public Health. If you involve volunteers directly make sure they know about these (any questions to [email protected].).

There is more information about volunteering and safeguarding on the Gov.uk website (scroll down).

When working with volunteers please;

  • ask them to try where possible to have a three-way conversation to ensure the resident knows it is the Council that has asked the volunteer to call and why;
  • remember to record each type of request incl date, address and who is supporting us, to help plan ongoing support; and
  • remember to thank the volunteers for their amazing support at this difficult time.

Help available from the voluntary sector is developing/changing all the time at present. Check in with the Directory regularly to keep up to date with what’s available
