Some information on how we can manage nuisance caused by animals and animal welfare.

Animals

Although these pages refer to the tenancy conditions, it is unlikely, other than in extreme circumstances, that we would want to take enforcement action on these alone and would look to good conversations and working with others to try to resolve any issues.

The dog hub

  • The Dog Hub is available to refer any person who has been recommended or considered for enforcement under dog control orders, anti-social behaviour or breach of tenancy conditions related to dogs.
  • Referrals can also be made for preventative training, where there is cause for concern but no enforcement action currently under consideration.
  • Referral forms are here

Conditions of tenancy

Sections 7a to 7g relates to keeping a dog.

Section 7a.

You, people living with you and people visiting you must not cause, encourage or allow any animal to do anything which causes, or is likely to cause:

  • A nuisance; or
  • Harassment of annoyance to anyone else on any property belonging to us.

This includes persistent barking and mess caused by dogs fouling our property.
