WaterHelp and WaterSure

Residents can get help with their water bill, up to 50% discount with Thames Water. 

Residents will now need to contact Thames water by telephone, to apply for Water help, residents can call Thames Water  Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm on  0800 980 8800.

If residents requires assistance with contacting Thames water they now  have a range of contact support options available.

Thames water has stated an online assessment will be available later in the year.

Please  advise residents to have the following information to hand before contacting Thames Water.

  • Income you receive and any debts you have
  • Regular bills and any other outgoings
  • Your Thames Water account number (this is at the top of your bill)

 

For residents who have a water meter installed and are struggling to pay their bill or  use more water than average due to a large family or medical condition.

The Water Sure scheme can help cap the residents  bills. Thames water use the average price based on what other customers pay.  For this year (2023/24), for example, Thames water capped  bills at £456. If  the resident already use less, they'll keep paying less.

To qualify for the Water Sure Scheme someone in the household must receive a means-tested benefit. The resident will also need to have a water meter and either:

  • A medical condition that requires extra water or
  • Three or more children under the age of 19 living at the property making you eligible for child benefits.
