Charitable Grants

You can help tenants apply for a charity grant who need financial help and are not eligible for local welfare assistant scheme or budgeting loan.

There are different types of charity grants available from different providers. Charity grants can be applied for things such as white goods, flooring, furniture, disability and education.

You can use Turn2Us grant search to find out which grant is available to your tenant.

You can also use the internet to search for grants as not all of them are on Turn2Us.

The Retail Trust and Hospitality Action have grant schemes which may be beneficial to our residents who have or currently working in these industries.

Residents who work in the film and TV industry can receive financial support, for those who qualify a one off payment will be awarded to cover unexpected or urgent expenses. To qualify applicants have at least 2 years experience working in or behind scenes roles in the UK film, TV and cinema industry and have no access to savings. The grants very rarely exceed £800, but higher levels of support can be considered but more evidence will be required.

For residents who are currently or previously employed in the Care Sector who require financial assistance can apply directly to the Care Workers' charity, the charity has 2 grant schemes, the Crisis grant fund and the Covid emergency fund, for further information and to apply please click the link here

Postal service workers both current and previously employed can receive financial support through the Rowland Hill fund, to apply applicants will need to call the following number 0345 600 4586, whereby a grant advisor will go through what is required.

Financial help is also available for those who are currently or previously employed in the Hair and Beauty industry, those who wish to apply for assistance can do those directly through the charity, for more information and the application form please click the link here. 

The Family fund provides help with essential items to families who are raising a disabled or seriously ill child, families can apply directly to the Family fund for further information on eligibility and how to apply, please click here

Wavelength is a charity that provides technology for residents who are  experiencing loneliness and living on a low income. To apply please click on the link here.

Most charities have an eligibility criteria and doesn’t allow individuals to apply themselves. You can apply for more than one charity for the same item if it is expensive such as flooring.
