Emergency temporary accommodation

Emergency temporary accommodation

Here is the full EMTA guidance with instructions on how to do a search for EMTA on NEC.

Moving out

The following actions are the responsibility of the NHO whose resident has been using the EMTA.

  • Advise the Moving Home team that your resident in EMTA is moving and keys will be expected back in 5PS. Ask them to let you know when keys are received.

  • Ask your resident to leave the property clean and clear as they found it, cleaning out the fridge and cooker, leaving the fridge switched off with door ajar.

  • Your resident also needs to read the utility meters and advise utility companies, benefits and Council tax.

  • Once keys are returned to 5PS make a visit to view the condition of the property and take an inventory.

  • At the visit check all furniture is present and can be reused by the next occupant. Make a note of any broken furniture to be disposed of or missing. Consider recharging the outgoing resident. Reorder replacement furniture.

  • File inventory on the property file on TRIM ready for the next NHO.  Please save as a word document.

  • End licence on NEC, update void status to EMTA.

  • Refer to the void repairs team making it clear what is to remain or be disposed of. Ask for white goods to be PAT tested and leave fridge door ajar and switched off.

  • If there is a key safe ask the void team to replace keys there after works are completed.
