Endings matter for lots of reasons. It's important we put time and energy into working together with a family to plan the ending of their time with you. This should mark the journey you have been on together, and celebrate all the progress and successes they have had (and naming that it might have been really hard at times too!)

It can also help think through what happens when you're no longer a part of the family's life; what that means for you, what that means for the children and for the parents, how you all feel about that. 

This tool will help you talk about and reflect on endings with a family. Many workers find very thoughtful and relational ways to mark the occasion in some way as well, and that is definitely worth thinking about.
