Family Early Help
Resilient Families was the name of a programme in Camden that started in 2014.
The programme aimed to build resilience and help children, young people and families to feel strong and thrive.
It was also designed to improve systems of support for Camden children and families. so they were as helpful and purposeful as possible. There were lots of different projects in the programme, including work in schools, childrens social care (Camden Model of Social Work), mental health, and early help system redesign.
The Resilient Families Practice Model was developed as part of that programme. It is the name given to Camden Family Early Help's way of working.
A way of working means a way of thinking, behaving and practicing. When we think, behave and practice in a certain way, it means we can be helpful and purposeful in our work with children and families.
The Resilient Families Practice Model is family-centred, child-focussed, and grounded in the quality of the relationship - within the family, with the worker, with the scaffolding network, and with wider community and society.
Resilient Families believes that relationships are the most powerful agent for change and - done well - can create the conditions for change.
Finally, Resilient Families acknowledges and honours that children live in families and families live in communities and everyone can play a role in helping.
