Adult Discounted Transport
Adults claiming Jobseekers Allowance or Universal Credit can get:
- Get 50% off pay as you go adult fares to travel on bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail (excluding between West Drayton and Reading) and most National Rail services in London
- Buy and use a child rate 7 Day, monthly or longer period Travelcard or Bus & Tram Pass
- Buy discounted paper single or return tickets from National Rail
You must be claiming:
- Jobseekers Allowance or Universal Credit, be aged between 18-24 and unemployed for 13-39 weeks
- Jobseekers Allowance or Universal Credit, be aged 25 or over and unemployed for 13-52 weeks
- Incapacity Benefit, Employment and Support Allowance or Income Support and actively engaged with an adviser in returning to employment
Applications is via the person's nearest Job Centre.

Childrens Free or Discounted Transport
children and young people under 18 qualify for free or discounted transport on TFL services. TFL reported on 18 August 2020 that there are no changes to free travel for children and young people, and that looks to be continuing into the Spring 2021 term.

Applying for a ZIP Oyster card needs ID. If the child doesn't have ID for any reason, please follow the instructions from TFL on this guide.
Driving in the UK
Ukrainian refugees can use their Ukrainian driving license to drive or rent vehicles in the UK. Some rental car companies may require Ukrainians to produce an international driver’s permit or a translated version of their licence. Ukrainians can drive in the UK for 12 months before they need to exchange their Ukrainian permits for a UK licence.
