There are two types of visa that Ukrainians may have applied for to get to the UK:

 Ukraine Family Scheme

• The Ukraine Family Scheme allows applicants to join family members or extend their stay in the UK.

• It is free to apply.

• To apply to the Ukraine Family Scheme you must
  • be applying to join or accompany your UK-based family member; and

  • be Ukrainian or the immediate family member of a Ukrainian national who is applying to the scheme; and

  • have been residing in Ukraine on or immediately before 1 January 2022 (including those who have now left Ukraine)

Homes for Ukraine Scheme

• This is for Ukrainian nationals and immediate family members of Ukrainian nationals who were resident in Ukraine prior to 1 January 2022 and who do not have a family connection to the UK.
  
  
• The scheme is currently for Ukrainians who have named people willing to sponsor them. Willing sponsors should get in touch with the applicants directly and prepare a visa application form with both parties’ details.
  
  
• Willing sponsors must register their interest on the Government Homes for Ukraine scheme.
  
  
• Sponsors who do not know anyone that they wish to sponsor can contact charities, faith groups or local community organisations who are making connections between individuals.
  
  
• Camden residents who are acting as sponsors, or hosts, for this scheme receive a £350 'thank you' monthly payment from the Government for up to 12 months
  
  
• Guests arriving from Ukraine on this scheme receive a £200 initial payment to support them until their Universal Credit application is processed

Ukraine Extension Scheme

This new government scheme is for Ukrainians who are already in the UK on another visa type. It allows you live, work and study in the UK if you’re Ukrainian, or the family member of someone who is Ukrainian. You can apply to this scheme if you hold any valid UK visa, or held one that expired on or after 1 January 2022.
