Family Early Help
Elective Home Education
The impacts of COVID may mean more parents wanting to explore home educating their children.
Elective home education means parents choosing to provide education for their children at home or in some other way they desire, instead of sending them to school full-time. This is different to education provided by a local authority other than at a school, for example for children who are too ill to attend school.
There is a lot to think about with home educating, and its important parents have all the facts and information so they can make informed choices.
If you're working with a family and the parents are expressing an interest in home education, you can find more information about it here

Flexi-Schooling
“Flexible school attendance” is an arrangement between the parent and the school, where the child is registered at school and attends the school only part time; the rest of the time the child is home educated. This can be a long- term arrangement or a short-term measure for a particular reason.
“Flexi-schooling” is a legal option provided the Head Teacher at the school concerned agrees to the arrangement. The child will be required to follow the National Curriculum whilst at school but not whilst he or she is being educated at home. Please use the application form to submit a request to your child’s school.
