Housing Allocations (Camden)
The Council is a social housing landlord, and allocates council homes to Camden residents. There are two departments who look after this - Housing Needs (who allocate properties) and Landlord Services (who look after tenants and their properties). Both are in the Supporting Communities Directorate.
Camden has a limited number of properties to allocate. To make the process fair, it has a housing allocations scheme. Residents are allocated points to bid for properties. People wanting to bid for properties need to be eligible. Some groups take priority, and get more points, because of their level of needs.
It can sometimes be tricky to work out how many housing points a family might need to bid for a property, or how many points they have or are entitled to. For help and advice on housing allocations, contact Maxine Smythe or Sabina Khanam in Accommodation Placements (on Outlook).
Here is a link to Camden's housing allocation scheme document, which gives lots of information about eligibility for the scheme, priority groups and points:

Other Types of Affordable Housing
This is a link to information about intermediate housing. Intermediate rent homes cost more than council accommodation but less than a private tenancy.
As well as being more affordable than a private tenancy, you have the assurance that your home is built, managed and let by a social housing landlord such as a housing association or the Counci
