Help for Under 5s

Help for Under 5s

This section contains information about help specifically for families with under 5s, including Little Village baby bank (emergency essential packs, bedding, equipment, clothes and toys), and links to Integrated Early Years information.

Our IEYS friends are always a rich source of support, expertise and information for anything under 5 related, so please do contact Chyrel Williams, Sally Corr, Liam Hall, Liz Andrew, Cathy Pajak or Sylvia Gilbert for help.

Little Village

Little Village is a baby bank (like a food bank but for baby essentials). They provide free essentials for families with children age 0-5, including clothing, equipment, bedding, toiletries, nappies and other basic items that families on low incomes or in difficult situations might need.

Due to the increase in demand and reduction in volunteers onsite, Little Village have temporarily tightened their referral criteria for families requiring clothing and baby equipment.

They are currently only able to accept referrals for clothing and kit for families who fulfill one of these two criteria:

  • Families with a newborn baby (30 weeks pregnant or baby under 3 months)

Or

  • families in emergency situations with nothing for their children (for example: victims of domestic violence, trafficking, modern slavery or recent asylum arrivals)

Details on how to refer here:

https://littlevillagehq.org/get-involved/make-a-referral/

For families who don't meet those criteria, but still require clothing and kit, there is a list of alternative sources of help on the Little Village website here:

and a map of other baby banks here:
