COVID Tests for Essential Workers Without Symptoms (from 21 December 2020)

Camden is now offering frontline essential workers who do not have COVID symptoms a rapid lateral flow COVID test every week. These are called lateral flow tests. Tests are free and results take 45 minutes.

The tests are not mandatory.

Please see this Essentials page for more information and how to book a test:

Appointments are available at lateral flow test sites across Camden:

If you work in a frontline role and/or have regular contact with our communities and do not have any symptoms, you can book your free weekly lateral flow test here.

There are also more lateral flow test centres opening across the country. You may be able to get a lateral flow test closer to home. Use this link to find your nearest lateral flow test centre

COVID Tests for Essential Workers With Symptoms (from 1 October 2020)

All members of the public are now able to access testing. There is a section on the COVID test booking form where you can specify that you are a critical/essential worker.

You can get a COVID test if:

  • you have symptoms of COVID (a new continuous cough, high temperature and/or loss/change in taste or smell) and are following government guidelines on self-isolating; or
  • a member of your household has COVID symptoms, meaning that you are self-isolating in line with government guidelines.  (Please note that in this scenario, only the member of the household will be eligible for testing – not the critical worker. The test is only effective for those who are symptomatic).

To book a test, go to the national Coronavirus testing website.  Please also notify your line manager who needs to update the Oracle HR system as soon as possible and notify [email protected] with the outcome of the test.

Testing should take place between 1-3 days of the individual experiencing symptoms. Testing after 5 days will not be possible, unless there is a specific reason for this.

If you have any questions about COVID testing, please contact [email protected]
