COVID Tests for Essential Workers With Symptoms (from 1 October 2020)
All members of the public are now able to access testing. There is a section on the COVID test booking form where you can specify that you are a critical/essential worker.
You can get a COVID test if:
- you have symptoms of COVID (a new continuous cough, high temperature and/or loss/change in taste or smell) and are following government guidelines on self-isolating; or
- a member of your household has COVID symptoms, meaning that you are self-isolating in line with government guidelines. (Please note that in this scenario, only the member of the household will be eligible for testing – not the critical worker. The test is only effective for those who are symptomatic).
To book a test, go to the national Coronavirus testing website. Please also notify your line manager who needs to update the Oracle HR system as soon as possible and notify [email protected] with the outcome of the test.
Testing should take place between 1-3 days of the individual experiencing symptoms. Testing after 5 days will not be possible, unless there is a specific reason for this.
If you have any questions about COVID testing, please contact [email protected]
